Sorphirða og sorpförgun frá heimilum
- Þriggja flokka kerfi hefur verið við heimili í Vestmannaeyjum síðan 2011. - Kostnaður vegna móttökusvæðis er ekki inn í þeim gjöldum sem innheimt eru með fasteignagjöldum heldur hafa verið greidd sérstaklega af útsvarstekjum.
Gjöld – kostnaður
- Sorphirða og sorpförgun frá heimilum verður rukkað eins og áður með fasteignagjöldum. Fyrir árið 2023 var það samanlagt rúmar 69 þús. kr. og fyrir árið 2024 verður það 71. þús. kr.
- Vestmannaeyjabær hefur ekki verið að rukka íbúa þegar þeir fara á móttökustöð við Eldfellsveg heldur hefur verið að greiða með móttökustöðinni og nam kostnaðurinn við það fyrir árið 2023 um 93 milljónir króna. Skv. lögum er það ekki lengur heimilt og er það þannig að þeir borga sem henda sem tekur það gildi frá og með 1. febrúar.

- Vestmannaeyjabær municipality should be contacted when the garbage containers need to be renewed and maintained. Residents are responsible for cleaning the containers.
- New double bins will be driven out when a suitable garbage truck arrives to Vestmannaeyjar.
- This aspect of garbage arrangements is included in the real estate taxes.
Reception center – Waste area (sorpa)
- The municipality of Vestmannaeyjabær has paid by receiving waste subject to payment according to tariff. These costs have run to the tens of millions every year. Mieszkańcy mają możliwość wpływania na liczbę i wielkość śmietników w oparciu o poziom usług odpowiedni dla każdego gospodarstwa domowego.
- Metal i szkło należy wyrzucać w pobliskich punktach odbioru lub w punkcie odbioru w Eldfellsvegur (sorpa). Zostaną zainstalowane dwa nowe punkty lokalne. - Gmina Vestmannaeyjabær nie pobierała od mieszkańców opłat za wywóz odpadów na wysypisko na ul. Eldfellsvegur (sorpa), lecz dopłacała do kosztów wysypiskowych, a koszt tego za rok 2023 wyniósł około 93 mln ISK. Według prawa nie jest to już dozwolone i już od 1 lutego ci, którzy wywożą śmieci, będą za nie płacić.
Na koniec stycznia planowany jest przetarg dot. wywozu śmieci. W przetargu należy uwzględnić zmiany dotyczące utylizacji i wywozu odpadów, gdyż odzwierciedla to rzeczywiste koszty odbioru, utylizacji i transportu odpadów.
