Með tilkynningunni er súlurit yfir aldursdreifingu smita í Vestmannaeyjum sem Hjörtur Kristjánsson, umdæmislæknir sóttvarna tók saman. Aldursdreifingin er svipuð og á landsvísu þar sem fólk á miðjum aldri er mest að smitast.

W ostatniej dobie nie zdiagnozowano żadnego zarażenia w Vestmannaeyjar i jest to pierwszy raz od 17 marca.
Liczba osób zarażonych to nadal 103 jednak liczba osób wyzdrowiałych nadal rośnie i jest ich już 34. Aktywnych zarażeń jest 69. 210 osób jest na kwarantannie.
Wraz z ogłoszeniem jest wykres opisujący wiek zarażonych w Vestmannaeyjar, który został wykonany przez Hjörtura Kristjánssona, lekarza epidemiologa okręgowego. Rozkład wiekowy jest podobny jak w całym kraju, ludzie w średnim wieku najbardziej się zarażają.
Musimy się nadal pilnować, przestrzegajmy zasad i ratujmy życia.

Announcement from crisis authorities 08.04.2020
In the last 24 hours, no infection was diagnosed in Vestmannaeyjar and this is the first time since March 17th.
The number of people infected is still 103, however, the number of people recovering is still growing and there are already 34 recovered. Active infections are 69. 210 people are in quarantine.
Along with the announcement is a chart describing the age of infected in Vestmannaeyjar, which was made by Hjörtur Kristjánsson, a district epidemiologist. The age distribution is similar to that of the whole country, where middle-aged people are most infected.
We must continue to be careful, follow the rules and save lives.
